Want doesn’t get!

Want doesn’t get!

"But I want it!" I'd say as a child, usually referring to a sparkly polly pocket toy or yet another tamagotchi. "Well, want doesn't get!" dad would usually respond.

Wait what? "want doesn't get"? I already sense your confusion because all you've heard about is people "getting what they want" by manifesting it.

Yes, you can manifest things into your life. But simply wanting something isn't enough. And, just because you want it, doesn't mean it's for your highest good...

Case in point... Raise your hand if you've ever went through a break-up. And now raise your other hand if you spent the first few weeks/months/years (delete as appropriate) wanting that person back into your life. Now put those hands down if, with the benefit of hindsight, you think "thank f**k that ended".

The secret to powerful manifestation is letting go of the outcome.

That's right, let that sh*t go. Trust that you will be given the outcome that is ultimately best for you.

It's not easy, not when you desperately want something, but if you stay too focussed on one outcome, you'll miss other blessings that the universe has to offer.

A personal example of this is when I started to manifest abundance into my life. Now, this was a couple of years ago when I had a few too many credit card bills (I blame my Taurus moon, I like spenny things, okay?) and I began my manifestation journey the wrong way... trying to manifest a bag of cash out of the air because that's what some people would have you believe happens.

My manifestation worked, but in really small ways. I got a letter telling me that interest had been calculated wrong and I was due a £600 reduction on one of my balances. I thanked the universe. It wasn't the bag of cash, but it was definitely a blessing.

In the background, I continued to "do the work". What does that even mean? Well, put simply I took action on my spending and tackled the debts head on instead of choosing to keep my head in the sand... And that's the other part of "want doesn't get", the universe isn't just going to land things in your lap because you decide you want it. It needs to see you taking the steps to bring it into your life.

So what's the point of this blog? Well, I drew this oracle card and it brought on the need to write all this. I assume someone out there needs to hear this message.

Someone out there needs to stop trying to force certain things to happen and accept that the outcomes they keep receiving are the right ones.

I don't know who you are, but I hope if this post finds you, you've just had that light-bulb moment.

I feel a little bit like Regina George telling Gretchen to "stop trying to make fetch happen"... Stop trying so hard. Centre yourself. Be still. Recognise the blessings you're being given and be thankful for them. Stop fighting for that one thing. Accept things as they are, do what you can do to make changes and let the universe do its thing for you.
